Here are some of the most common questions parents and students have about joining Agape’s sports program. It covers topics like registration, participation fees, required medical forms, academic eligibility, practice schedules, and communication through the GameChanger app. 

Frequently Asked Questions

Agape currently offers Boys & Girls Basketball, Girls Volleyball, Boys Soccer, Boys & Girls Cross Country, Boys Baseball, Boys & Girls Golf, and Girls Flag Football. Sports typically serve grades 5–12.

The athletic participation fee is $185 for full-time Agape students and $250 for part-time or homeschool students. This fee helps cover uniforms, officials, and facility costs. It must be paid before the first game.

Yes. There is a $50 discount for each additional sport, provided all invoices have been paid and jerseys have been returned. This discount applies to Full-time, part-time Agape students and homeschoolers.

Each coach sets practice times. You can view all games on the official Athletics Calendar. Coaches will also communicate regarding practice schedules through the GameChanger app.

Registration is completed online through the Athlete Registration Form available on the athletics page.

Student-athletes must maintain a “C” average or higher in all classes in the preceding grading period. A failing grade makes them ineligible for the next period. A “D” grade allows practice participation but no games. An "F" makes them ineligible to play or participate with the team.
👉 Participation requirements

If a student is absent from school the day of a game, they may not play or attend that game.
👉 Athletics guidelines

Yes. Homeschool and part-time students are encouraged to participate. Starting in the 2026–27 school year, OHSAA rules will apply, requiring homeschoolers to take at least one one-credit graduation requirement course. More details will be coming soon.
👉 Participation guidelines

Agape is pursuing membership in the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) beginning in the 2026–27 school year. This will allow athletes to compete in official state-level tournaments and events.

Every athlete must have a current (within 12 months) physical and a completed OHSAA Pre-Participation Form. Physicals can be completed at your family doctor, local urgent care, or MinuteClinic.

Yes. Parents are asked to help with concessions, scorekeeping, transportation, and other team needs. Volunteer service is part of the athletics community commitment.

Agape athletes are expected to reflect Christian values both on and off the field. The Athletics Code of Conduct outlines expectations for players, coaches, and parents.

Parents should wait 24 hours after a game before approaching a coach. Concerns should first be discussed directly, following the Matthew 18 principle. If unresolved, contact the Athletic Director.

Practice attire should be modest and appropriate for the sport. For away games, athletes should wear Agape apparel or team-approved travel attire.

Cancellations or rescheduled games are posted on the GameChanger app and the school’s Athletics Calendar. Coaches also send direct notifications.

Coaches will assess the injury and contact parents immediately. A physician’s clearance is required before returning to play for any significant injury.
👉 Participation guidelines

Middle school students may join certain teams depending on roster size and skill level. Each sport page or coach can clarify eligibility for grades 5–8.

Spectators are part of the team culture. Parents and fans are asked to model Christlike behavior, encourage all athletes, and refrain from negative comments toward officials or opposing teams.
