Academic Excellence & Spiritual Growth

At Agape Christian Academy, we provide Christ-centered education for students from Kindergarten through High School, viewing education as a ministry to your entire family. Our independent, non-denominational approach combines academic excellence with spiritual growth in small, nurturing classes. We serve families through two campuses: Burton for Kindergarten through Fourth Grade and Troy for Fifth through Twelfth Grade. We invite you to visit and discover how an education grounded in God's Word is shaping the next generation of Christian leaders.

Creating ambassadors

Biblical Worldview

We seek to be a Christian school that teaches from a Biblical worldview. We believe that the Bible is the written Word of God and the truth by which the Holy Spirit enlightens our understanding of God, our world, and ourselves. All of life, including the studies and disciplines in which our students are engaged, are governed and directed by the authority of Scripture.

The Mission

Truth. Excellence. TransfoRm.

Partnering in Truth

We believe the partnership between school, home, and church is vital for your child's spiritual and moral development. This collaboration reinforces Biblical teachings consistently, fostering deeper faith and character. As Deuteronomy 6:6-7 teaches, these three pillars form the foundation your child needs.

Excellence in Education

Academic excellence is essential at Agape Christian Academy, reflecting our belief that all pursuits should honor God and contribute to growth. Through high expectations and tailored support, we help students develop their God-given talents and pursue knowledge with diligence, preparing them to become leaders who serve their communities with integrity.

Transforming the world

We disciple students to become beacons of hope and truth. By embodying Christ's love, compassion, and integrity, our students influence their communities with the Gospel. Their faith-driven perspective equips them for positive change, fulfilling the Great Commission.

Why this matters

Our Values

  • To provide the student with a balanced education and growth academically, spiritually and physically
  • To train the student in the way he or she should go
  • To equip the student with absolutes for their lives through the understanding of truth
  • To grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

Beginnings

Our History

Agape Christian Academy opened in the fall of 2005 with just 10 students from eight founding families who shared a vision for quality, non-denominational Christian education. The school's rapid growth spoke to the community's need, expanding to more than 40 students by Fall 2006 and adding 3,000 square feet to accommodate families seeking Christ-centered learning.

Two decades later, Agape now serves nearly 300 students across six counties, operating two specialized campuses. Our Burton Campus houses Kindergarten through Fourth Grade, while Fifth through Twelfth Grade students attend our Troy Campus. This growth reflects not only strong community support but also God's faithful provision, transforming what began as a humble two-room schoolhouse into a thriving educational ministry that continues to shape young lives for His glory.

Frequently Asked Questions

Agape Christian Academy is a non-public, non-chartered school in Ohio, which means we operate independently without state charter oversight or funding. Agape is currently in the process of applying for charter status and anticipates that being in place for the 2026-27 school year.

Agape utilizes curriculum developed by A Beka and Bob Jones, well-known and respected publishers of Christian school materials. Teachers use A Beka curriculum for Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Health, while Bob Jones curriculum is used for Mathematics and Bible Studies. A biblical worldview is integrated throughout the curriculum, and our staff has been trained in Biblical worldview integration and integration of their personal faith in the classroom. This approach ensures every subject is taught through a Christian lens, unlike public schools.

The A Beka Science and Health Program presents the universe as the direct creation of God and refutes the man-made idea of evolution, presenting God as the Great Designer and Lawgiver. In History and Social Studies, students receive a realistic view based upon the foundational truths of Scripture. Since the Bible is the most important subject in the Christian school, it is taught specifically and systematically, with Bible stories in lower grades leading to profound truths of the Gospels and Epistles for older students.

To begin the enrollment process, schedule a visit for your family and a shadow day for your student by contacting us at 440.834.8022 or scheduling online. For specific admission forms and requirements, families should contact our admissions office directly.

Our Burton Campus serves Preschool through Fourth Grade, while our Troy Campus houses Fifth Grade through High School. This age-appropriate separation allows us to tailor our facilities, programs, and teaching approaches to specific developmental stages, creating optimal learning environments for younger children and older students.

To support family convenience, we offer intercampus transportation for students in Kindergarten through 12th Grade (not available for Pre-K). This service isn't limited to siblings - any family can utilize intercampus transportation based on their location and needs. For example, if you live closer to Burton Campus but your child attends Troy Campus, or vice versa, you can take advantage of this transportation option for an additional fee. This flexibility helps families manage logistics while ensuring students receive age-appropriate education at the most suitable campus.

Yes, we offer intercampus transportation for families with students at both campuses. This service helps families manage the logistics of having siblings at different campuses without the burden of multiple drop-offs and pick-ups.

Our athletic teams are called the Ambassadors, based on 2 Corinthians 5:20. We currently offer volleyball for girls in grades seven through twelve, soccer for boys in grades seven through twelve, cross country and basketball for both girls and boys. We are actively pursuing OHSAA status in the 2026-27 school year.

Student appearance should enhance the spiritual, social, and academic atmosphere at Agape Christian Academy.
